Recensio Moskau

"Recensio Moscow" is a Russian-language online review journal where Western new publications are reviewed by Russian and Eastern European scholars.

Recensio Moscow is a Russian-language review journal created at the German Historical Institute Moscow. In it, Russian and Eastern European scholars review new historical literature published in Western Europe.

Recensio Moscow is published on perspectivia.net (an online publication platform of the foundation DGIA) once a year and exclusively online. Additionally, the reviews have been appearing on recensio.net since 2010.

The German Historical Institute Moscow, which was founded in 2005 to support exchange between Russian and German historians as well as research projects on Russian history and German-Russian relations, was placed on the list of 'undesirable organisations' by the Russian Ministry of Justice in June 2024. Immediately after the Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the institute suspended all events and cooperation with Russian state institutions. The GHI Moscow's publication series on perspectivia.net will remain available in their original version, but will not be continued. In order to maintain the MWS's expertise in Eastern Europe and create space for Russia-related research, the decentralised Max Weber Network Eastern Europe https://mwsosteuropa.hypotheses.org/ has been established since 2023. The network comprises offices in Tbilisi, Vilnius and Helsinki.
