Nuova Rivista Storica

The "New Historical Journal" is a long-established Italian scholarly journal which deals mainly with Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History.

Nuova Rivista Storica [New Historical Journal], published since 1917 by Società Editrice Dante Alighieri, is published every four months and embraces a wide chronological span, from Medieval to Late Modern History. Each issue comprises six sections. In the first of these sections, entitled Storia presente, the author(s) tackle(s) a historical theme on the forefront of the current historiographical debate. The second section (Saggi) comprises the various articles and represents the backbone of the journal. The third section (Questioni storiche) comprises articles that develop an argument much from a historiographical perspective. The fourth section (Note e documenti) is reserved to unpublished sources and documents with critical and philological introductions. The fifth and sixth sections (Interpretazioni e rassegne; Recensioni) are dedicated to the reviews of books or comparative reviews of works related to a broad thematic complex.
